E.E Cummings once said-
"To be yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everyone else, is the hardest battle any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."
I never thought I'd date a cheerleader. I always judged them, I saw them as the ones who make fun of people, and most of them do. They think they're better then everyone else. They've made fun of me, they've hurt my friends, and i hated them. Now, though, I see you cant judge a group of people on three or four of their own. You have to see everyone as individuals. We are all just people, why do we make it like we have to be SOMETHING? Why can't I just be Josh? Why do I have to be Josh the Nerdy Emo Kid, who's dating a cheerleader. I don't want to be looked upon any better because of my girlfriend, I want to be me. I love my girlfriend, and what people say isn't going to change that, but why cant they see ME for what I am, and not for their silly stereotypes? E.E Cummings had that right. Be yourself, fight for what you believe. I just want to be me.
That was a really good blog. I think it's a good challenge for all of us! I'm anxious to keep reading the things you write!
