You Never Know.

You never really know, do you?
Whats gonna happen, when you wake up in the morning.
You could have the worst day of your life, you could get in a car crash, someone you love could die.
And yet, in spite of it all, we still get up.
We know what could happen.
And yet, we turn the covers over and stand up.
This says something about the human race: A). We are very messed up, and don't know how to learn from our mistakes.
Or B). We are very brave, in spite of it all we stand up and face life.
I choose A.
Because B is what everyone likes to think.
We like to say, "I got up this morning and faced life with a passionate power."
But, if you truly look into yourself, and look into others around you, you know that's not true.
The World is not a happy place. We pretend it is.
But its not.
Stop being naive and face Reality.

Define Yourself.

So... Whoever said Life's great, smoked way too much pot.
Life isn't a happy game.
Never has been.
Life. What is the true definition of that word?
Who decides what it gets to mean?
I guess the answer to that question is different for some people.
Some say their parents, some say the president, some say the government, some say money.
But what I say is this: Let you define your life.
Let yourself be in control.
Don't give up the reigns on what you care about.
Tell people who you are.
Don't let others, or your parents. or your religion, or your government tell you who you are going to be.
Be you.
Show who you are, every day, with what you do.
Let your actions define you.
Be you.
I'm Me.
Now you tell everyone who you are,

Take It.

"There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood leads onto fortune. Omitted, all the voyages of their lives will be bound in sorrows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, we must take the current as it serves, or forever be lost."
William Shakespeare

Opportunity. That's what this quote is about. About a month ago, I took the current as it served, and took the opportunity of a lifetime. All I can say for you, readers, is that its been great. So, when you have an opportunity comes knocking, take it. No matter how the road ahead looks, if you believe that it is something you'll never have a chance to redo, take it. Otherwise you'll wake up with that feeling of "what if?". And that can lead you to some very dark places. So fight for your opportunities, let people know your going to take whats yours, no matter how many people you have to step onto get there. Take it.

JustJosh.

E.E Cummings once said-
"To be yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everyone else, is the hardest battle any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

I never thought I'd date a cheerleader. I always judged them, I saw them as the ones who make fun of people, and most of them do. They think they're better then everyone else. They've made fun of me, they've hurt my friends, and i hated them. Now, though, I see you cant judge a group of people on three or four of their own. You have to see everyone as individuals. We are all just people, why do we make it like we have to be SOMETHING? Why can't I just be Josh? Why do I have to be Josh the Nerdy Emo Kid, who's dating a cheerleader. I don't want to be looked upon any better because of my girlfriend, I want to be me. I love my girlfriend, and what people say isn't going to change that, but why cant they see ME for what I am, and not for their silly stereotypes? E.E Cummings had that right. Be yourself, fight for what you believe. I just want to be me.
